Beautiful Bali

Take five luxury resorts, six nights and a very rushed media trip to the largest of Indonesia's 18,000 islands and what do you get?

Hopefully a good travel story for a national magazine which I filed today (yay me). And these images of some of the most stunning places I have ever had the joy of laying my head and the things I got up to (in no particular order).

  

Generation Graze

Back from Bali and there will be photographic evidence once I get past a few deadlines.

Bali Hai

The last time I went to Bali, it was at the rump end of a three-month backpacking journey. We were enroute from London, our home for five years, back to New Zealand.

By the time we reached this idyllic cluster of islands, we were tired, hot, grumpy and wearing clothes that hadn't seen the inside of a washing machine for weeks.

And although we fell in love with the peaceful people and the countryside, with its tangled jungle and lush green paddy fields, we have never been in a hurry to go back.

Tomorrow that changes when I fly to the Indonesian island for a media trip. While last time we stayed in the cheapest accommodation possible, trying to make our money last until we got home, this time around I'll be checking out five luxury resorts for a magazine story. Oh how times have changed.

Tales from home and away

The first ever North & South Magazine travel compilation is out and I managed to get TWO stories in there (as well as a pic of my ugly mug and one of Bristol and myself standing atop Mt Vic on the back sleeve).

Paradise in the Pines

A couple of months back I spent a few nights in the glorious Isle of Pines in New Caledonia. That story is one of three I have in the September issue of Air NZ's inflight magazine, Kia Ora (click here to read).
