Catching up

It has been a week of reconnecting with mates: last year's work and travel frenzy left little time to see some of the glorious folk I'm privileged to call  my friends (frankly I'm surprised any of them are still talking to me).

Today it was the turn of Julia and her two woofers. I haven't seen lovely J for months and months so we strolled along O Parade and drank gallons of green tea at Beach Babylon and then walked back up to the Mt Vic Community Gardens. I don't think either of us paused for breath the entire two hours. And oh, oh, oh it was all kinds of lovely to do it full sunshine. A Very Good Day.

Sick

Last night we braved a sudden downpour for a doggie walking group dinner at the exceedingly dog friendly Beach Babylon.

This morning I woke up with a sore throat, runny nose and the shivers. I now have the tissue box on lockdown. I coughed my way through a phone interview with the founder of a think-tank, wrote a media release for a client, filed two freelance stories and am now ready to go back to bed. Am hoping against hope I can make the running group tonight.

Today's visual is of his wee guy, who is cuddled against me, glad that his Mama has time to lie down during the middle of the day.

Dogaccino, anyone?

This evening the dog walking group took a stroll along the waterfront and then worked its way through the K9 (and human) menu at this fabulous dog-friendly cafe.

The menu included pupsicles, beef beer (!) and, yes, dogaccions (made with beef broth). The two-legged among us enjoyed a glass of red and a slice of cheesecake. A beautiful walk on a stunning Welly night.
