Earlier this year, I walked the Tora Track for a story for North & South Magazine.

That's when I meet one of the co-owners of the Tora Track, Kiri Elworthy, and got to nosy around her gorgeous house. The story of that house is in the December issue of NZ House & Garden Magazine.

Here's my second story from this month's NZ House & Garden Magazine, this time featuring a disused chocolate factory in the Wairarapa which award-winning Wellington hairdresser Derek Elvy cleverly turned in a stunning home.

The fact that Derek is suffering from terminal cancer, and organised much of the renovation from his hospice bed, speaks volumes about the creativity and tenacity of this amazing man (click here to read).

NZ House & Garden Story

A good day

The AM  was spent nosing around this beautiful old Island Bay villa for a story for House & Garden Magazine. I do so love me a villa.

  
While I did the journo thing, the Animator took His Highness to the beach and when they swung by to collect me, the owner invited them in to play with her two dogs, including Willow, an eight week old puppy, who we fell hopelessly in love with. I may even have tried to shove Willow into my handbag as we left.

In the PM there was a dog walk with the walking group in Waikanae - Bristol was in canine heaven.

Did I also mention there was more sunshine than we knew what to do with? Happy days...
