Country Cooking School

Along with green tea, doggie kisses and cracking the spine of a new book, one of my favourite things in the world is Saturday morning sleep-ins.

But yesterday we forsook sleep for an early drive to Featherston to attend Mary Biggs' charming Lavender's Green Cooking School (for a story for a national magazine). Along with three others, we spent the day gathering food from Mary's 35-acre farm, cooking it and eating it.

It was a fantastic day and if you're lucky enough to live in Aotearoa and want a fun, educational and scrumptious day, head on over the big, winding hill to the Wairarapa to visit the fabulous Mary at her envy-inducing rural sanctuary.
