48 Hours in Shanghai
My story about 'doing' this magical city on a stopover is in the July issue of Kia Ora Magazine, Air NZ's inflight magazine (click here to read).
Also in this issue, I chatted to Kiwi chef Samantha Dinsdale who recently moved back to New Zealand and is taking part in next month's Visa Wellington on a Plate (click here).

Impossible Burger
So here's the real reason a few journos flew to San Francisco and back from LA last week - to visit the Impossible Foods' cutting-edge Silicon Valley lab where they make delicious plant-based burgers which, as of 1 July, are being offered on Air New Zealand's Business Premier flights from LA to Auckland (hence our detour to LA to be on the inaugural flight).
Here's one of four stories I had to write from the famil (three down, one to go).

The young foodies
So San Francisco was fun and fleeting (pics to come) but I also brought back a cold, which has felled me.
So there will be pics soon of the SF/LA jaunt but in the meantime, here are a couple of stories I had in yesterday's Your Weekend Magazine. The first, about young foodie entrepreneurs and the second about acclaimed London-based Kiwi chef Anna Hansen who is coming back for this year's Visa Welly on a Plate.

Are you going to San Francisco?
Why yes, I am actually.
A last minute media trip has fallen into my lap and I am off to SF for a few nights. Has been a while since my last visit, so looking forward to reacquainting myself (the pic below is from Christmas 2010 when we flew from the UK where we were living to visit our beloved woofer Molly who had gone to live in SF with friends when we moved to the UK).
See you on the other side.

Bank of Mum and Dad
Or Bomad, as some clever dick has named it.
My story about when these scenarios go right, and when they go horribly, horribly wrong is the cover story of the July issue of North & South Magazine (click here to read).
