Atahuri

A few months back, we stayed Atahuri, a boutique bolt-hole on the Kapiti Coast for a story.

And, like most folk who stay there, we fell under the spell of owner, Robyn Renouf. Yesterday she invited us back for brunch, as the Animator needed to get a few more pics for another national story. We sat on the rooftop deck until the wind chased us inside and then devoured these delectable whitebait fritters (caught by Robyn's fair hands) and asparagus. We followed that with a guava and passion-fruit cake (the fruit was grown on the two acre beach-front property).

It was a lovely day and I am now suffering from extreme lifestyle envy.

If you're in the vicinity of the Lower North Island and are looking to treat yourself, you could do worse than spend a night at Atahuri.
