Tonight after work, I was invited to a screening of A Royal Night Out , the cutest wee film about what Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret allegedly got up to when they sneaked out of Buck Palace on VE night in 1945.
The evening was hosted by the lovely Penelope Ryder-Lewis, who I'd interviewed a few years ago back for this story for Canvas Magazine. Penelope, who helms her own law firm, was celebrating 25 years of being admitted to the bar and it was a lovely, lovely night.
I'm about as far from a Monarchist as it's possible to be, but I adored this film, particularly the costumes. If you get a chance, go see it.
